An Early 19th Century Flame Mahogany Box of unusually large proportions with a swing handle in front and corners protected by recessed brass reinforcements and two sets of straps below. The front and back of the box have recessed brass plates for protection at the base. The lock is in good working order, with key and the pair of latches is for alternative security. The box opens to 180º onto the capacious green silk velvet lined interior and removable tray.
