A Victorian Black Leather Governmental Despatch Box, the chamfered top with a central swing handle, stamped with the The Royal Crown above Queen Victoria's insignia. The extra secure seven slider Bramah Patent lock is stamped S.Mordan & Co. London and framed with a heavy brass plate for extra security. It retains its original key. The black leather lined interior has raised sides and displays the manufacturer's name, address & details in gold on either side of the lock.
The exterior brass work is original to the box.
