*Suzanne (Suzette) Reichemberg (b.1853) was a distinguished actress in her day. Suzette was her professional name. In 1886 she made her debut as Agnes in The School of Women at The Comedie Francaise. She played the role of a naive innocent young woman for about 30 years between 1870 & 1900. She had many admirers, and was the muse of several photographers, and the subject of many newspaper articles. It is believed that she was the model for Edouard Manet's 'En Robe du Soiree' of 1878. In 1900 she married Napoleon Pierre Mathieu, Baron de Bourgoing.
The dessert, Crepe Suzette was named in her honour
