An Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Upright Post Box, the hinged sloping top inlaid with 'LETTERS' above the slot, and with inlaid fan spandrels at each corner. A 'Times of Posting' aperture with bevelled glass is set within an inlaid border. Below the lock another bevelled glass window displays the the letters inside for posting. The sides have inlays of satinwood banding & stringing.
The Directory Rack below contains the leather folders for Whitaker's Almanac, Red Book, Bradshaw's Railway Guide, ABC Railway Guide, and Telegrams (containing a number of unused forms and a pencil).
A telegram drawer above the bevelled base accommodates forms & a pencil.
The Bramah lock retains its original key.
