A rare & comprehensive set of Edwardian Amputation & General Operation Surgical Instruments, housed in a brass bound mahogany case with working lock & side hooks. The set retains almost all of its original contents fitted in three skeletonised metal trays for easy sterilizing in its metal tank. Most of the instruments are stamped 'DOWN BROS. LONDON'
N.B.Inside the lid are clamped 17 pairs of forceps (one missing). The amputation saw has a hinged back so that the blade can be replaced (two spare blades included).
