A fine Louis XVI Red Morocco Leather Portefeuille* with exquisite gold tooling on the borders and edges, opening in concertina fashion with an inner flap. The silver gilt escutcheon is engraved having four locking apertures. The lock has a 'cloverleaf' drill pin, designed to make it difficult to pick. It retains its original key (see picture).
