An Edwardian Oak Table-Top Jewellery Display Cabinet, The two divided glass-sided drawers are lined with green silk velvet & watered silk and can be opened in either direction so that the jewellery can be viewed from different angles. The drawer fronts are decorated with applied gothic brass panels with brass knobs. Both drawers can be opened from each end, and one of them can be locked. A brass plaque engraved with the monogram 'A.B'. is mounted at one end of the top between the glass panels, and another, engraved 'July 1908' at the opposite end. On the reverse of one of the drawer fronts is there is fixed a brass tab engraved with the registration mark 'Rd. No. 372995/2' which tells us that the design was registered in 1901. The brass trade label on the reverse of the other drawer front bears the name of the Paris retailer 'A. Harey. 23 Bde. des Capucines Paris'.
The cabinet was was manufactured in in the U.K. for the French retailer.
