An Interesting & Rare Despatch box clad in waxed canvas designed to protect against severe heat and rough handling in the Tropics. The bevelled top is gilt embossed with the late queen's royal cypher and the initials G.C.O. The number two appears on three sides of the lid. The extra secure 4 lever Chubb lock stamped 'King George V'. There are four keys.
The brass swing handle is situated at the rear of the box for easy carrying.
The maker's name & address is gilt embossed in the underside.
