A Black Morocco Leather Despatch Box the bevelled lid with central swing handle bears the insignia of Queen Victoria and the initials H.O.A-F those of of The Right Honourable Hugh Arnold, Oakley-Foster (19 August 1855 – 12 March 1909) who served as Secretary of State for War from 1903 until December 1905 in Lord Balfour's Conservative government.

The lock is stamped Bramah London and retains its original key with cover.  The black leather lined interior features raised walls and stability studs.
