An Edward VII Black Leather Despatch Box, the bevelled top, with a recessed brass handle, is embossed with the royal cipher and 'First Lord of the *Admiralty’ and the letter T. The black leather lined interior has raised sides and brass studs to attach labels etc. The Bramah lock retains its original key.
*This despatch box was originally the property of Edward Majoribanks, 2nd Baron Tweedmouth (1849-1908) who held the post of First Lord of the Admiralty from 1905 to 1908.
