A Rare Victorian Oak Domed Top Country House Post Letters Box on a stepped plinth with twin slots in the dome for in & out post, the brass half-moon plate with 'FOR POST & 'RECEIVED' above 'LETTERS' engraved in black. The door has a working lock with a brass knob and a glass window displaying post & collection times, and another below revealing the contents. The interior is divided to separate the incoming and outgoing posts. There is a removable panel inside the door to access the times of post notice.The box dates to about 1860 which is unusually early for this type of box
