A Victorian Full Sized Black Leather Despatch Box with central inset brass handle, the black leather interior with detachable pen trays and inkwell and a key locking expanding pouch inside the lid.
This box was originally the property of Irwin Charles Maling , b.1841 d.1918 who was Private Secretary to The Governor General of New Zealand George Phipps, 2nd Marquess of Normanby from 1874-1878.
