An Elizabeth II Red Leather Cloth covered Despatch Box, the chamfered top stamped with the royal insignia and 'Royal Commission on Assizes and Quarter Sessions', *with the initials (G).A.W. , and having a brass swing carrying handle at the rear, the black leather cloth lined interior with raised sides and stabilising studs. The lock has four levers with two keys and a diamond keyhole escutcheon.
