C 1880
A small late 19th Century Oak Arch Top Post letters Box, probably from a large private residence, a small hotel or club. The brass plate incorporates a shuttered slot, above which is engraved 'LETTERS' in black & 'VR' in red, denoting that the box was in use during the reign of Queen Victoria.
The window in the door should display the times of posting, which has been replaced by a notice informing that it was temporarily out of use.
The working Bramah lock retains its original key.
