A large rectangular Black Leather Bound Document, Despatch or Instrument Box, with brass lines stamped around each side, the top mounted with a recessed brass handle, and a substantial brass handle attached to the right hand side for vertical carrying. The interior retains its original purple velvet lining in good condition. The lock is stamped JT NEEDS 8 DOWN ST PICCADILLY and LATE J BRAMAH 124 PICCADILLY, and retains its original key. Ortner & Houles's name and address appears stamped in gold on the front edge of the open box.
