An interesting Victorian Black Morocco Leather Despatch box issued by Her Majesty's Stationery office C1880 for use by the Scottish Treasury. The bevelled top with a central brass carrying handle, and with 'TREASURY LETTERS' embossed in front, and with the Royal Crown gold tooled above the handle, with Queen Victoria's cypher below. The black leather lined interior features raised sides and stabilising studs, and the manufacturers details can be seen on either side of the Bramah lock, which retains its original key.
