A Blue Leather covered Despatch Box stamped N E D C* (National Economic Development Council) with rear leather handle and Chubb lock & key + spare key.

* The National Economic Development Council was set up in 1962 to bring together the management, Unions & Government in an attempt to address Britain's economic decline. Margaret Thatcher mainly ignored it throughout the 1980's. It was eventually abolished by John Major in June 1992.
