A Early Victorian Writing Box C 1850 in original condition, veneered on all sides with the finest Burr Walnut, and edged with brass. A recessed brass oval plate in the top bears the initials. M.N.D. All of the fittings within the Coromandel & Mahogany lined interior are original to the box, including the black tooled leather writing surface, the walnut tilted pen rack. the lidded nib repositories, and the pair of ink bottles with silver plated screw tops. There is also a card & envelope rack. Below, you have two sections for storing paper and three secret drawers behind a mahogany panel with a brass tab bearing the maker's name & address.
The Bramah lock retains its original key.
