A late 19th Century Rectangular French Solid Mahogany Box C 1880 with brass corners and central brass campaign handle engraved 'Dr Cuffer' . The working lock is engraved 'Charriere a Paris', who were renowned makers of surgical instruments. In addition to the lock the box has a pair of stout brass hinged latches for security during daily use. Originally containing surgical instruments, this box has been relined with green silk velvet, and now be suitable to hold documents, instruments or jewellery.
