A large Early 19th Century Artist's Mahogany fitted Paint Box with drawer, containing a comprehensive range of the original jars bottles & water pots, brushes, drawing instruments, and other accoutrements. Many paper packets of powders and cards are contained below the lift out tray, and inside the drawer. The original polished mahogany pallet has been painted with depictions of paint brushes, and this is fixed inside the lid with a large turn catch. There is another large wooden pallet in the drawer. A black leather box by C. Roberson, 99 Long Acre & 154 Piccadilly containing a pair of metal scribes with black handles is also included. The box can also serve as an easel or document rest when the lid is lifted and held in one of three positions by a hinged brass stay with the wooden shelf in place.
