I have pleasure in offering for sale this fabulous Extra Large Palais Royale Box as an example of French making at its very finest. It dates from the early 19th Century and is veneered with the best Burr Elm on each side, and with recessed brass tabs, corner pieces, side handles and a vacant shield plate matching the lock escutcheon. All the edges are reinforced with brass, and there is a brass lined shield thumb recess to facilitate opening. The interior is lined with green silk velvet with ruche work inside the lid and the lock is in good working order.
