A small Governmental Red Leather covered Dispatch Box, the chamfered top stamped in gold with King George v's cypher beneath the royal crown, and the initials D.I.D below and the letter N above. A substantial brass handle sits on the left hand side so that the box can be carried vertically. The interior is lined with black leather and has raised sides. The maker's name & address is stamped in gold on the front rim with the words: "Manufacturere's to H.M.Sationery Office". The substantial BRAMAH lock retains its original key.
