A rare Victorian Oak Domestic Country House Post Letters Box of particularly good colour, the sloping top with brass strip mounts, the times of posting and interior view windows both glazed with bevelled glass. Additional features include a five compartment directory rack and a shallow drawer with a brass label engraved 'Telegrams'. Below the interior window is a brass strip engraved 'Rd No.205761', the design registration number for the year, 1885. The brass side handles are original to the box. The Bramah lock is in working order with a good replacement key.
