An Early Victorian Oblong Shaped Despatch Box of Morocco Leather, the bevelled top embossed 'Treasury Letter'*and with the royal crown above and the insignia of Queen Victoria, below the central handle, the black leather lined interior with raised sides & security studs, the lock stamped Bramah Patent retaining its original key, flanked by the maker's details.
*This despatch box would have carried Government correspondence & documents between The Treasury and the Queen.
