A Rare Oblong Red Morocco Leather Despatch Box c 1905 with recessed side handle, the bevelled top embossed I.O. (INDIA OFFICE), and Edward VII's insignia with crown & E R I monogram (EDWARD REX IMPERATOR), and the front bevel is stamped PRIVATE SECRETARY. The black leather lined interior has raised sides, a full length hinge with 90° quadrant stays, and stabilising studs. The Bramah Patent lock has been restored and a contemporary style key suppled.
