A Large Flame Mahogany Box, or trunk, standing on domed feet, with side handles and a secure four lever Chubb type Lock & key, the keyhole behind a hinged cover. Below a brass presentation shield is engraved as follows.
Presented to David s Gordon by His father & Mother on his 14th Birthday 16.4.15.
The lid opens on to a semi fitted interior and is supported at 90º by a heavy duty jointed brass stay. On the left there is a fixed tray above a compartment the side of which can be raised to reveal a large hidden drawer underneath with a recessed brass handle.
This is a well made substantial box in very good condition with just a few minor surface cracks. it weighs 9.75 kg.
