A Small Blue Morocco Leather Edwardian Despatch Box with a recessed brass end handle on one end, the top bordered with a gilt line and embossed with the indistinct initials A.P. The interior with raised sides retains its original dark blue velvet lining and gilded brass fittings.
A useful & interesting feature of this Bramah lock is that the box can be locked closed by pressing down on the lid. To open it the keyhole surround is moved to the right. The box is fully locked only when the key is turned and the front cannot be moved.
