A Fine & Unusual Early 19th Century Mahogany Documents Box & Writing Compendium with brass corners, corner straps & campaign side handles. A recessed brass plate in the lid is engraved Mr. Taylor, Lichfield. The fitted drawer in front is secured by two brass rods & contains a travelling ink bottle. a pounce pot & pen tilt. The green velvet lined interior features an empty tray, beneath which is a compartment for documents. Inside the lid a stationery rack drops down, the reverse of which serves as a writing surface. The Bramah lock has been restored, and a the correct pattern of key supplied.
